George "Dog" Balluch, Iii

May 9, 1959 — May 1, 2019

George “Dog” Balluch, III, of Masury, Ohio, went home during the early evening hours on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, while a patient of Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, following an unexpected heart attack. He was 59.

George was born May 9, 1959 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son to George and Fay K. (Myers) Balluch, Jr.

He graduated from Sharon High School in 1977 and furthered his education by receiving an associate’s degree in architectural engineering from Penn State University, Shenango Campus.

His work history took many different turns along the way. He began working at a local gas station and then moved to National Castings. He next landed a distribution position with Wise Potato Chips where he became known as the “Wise Guy”. After another turn, he became an appliance salesman for Eddie Wilson and later for Budd Miller. He eventually ended up at Wheatland Tube as a foreman in the shipping department. Lastly however, he started his own company, Balluch Home Improvements. It was here that he began to create his own legacy, as he quickly became known for his quality of work and for his attention to detail.

George was certified in kitchen & bath design, and was licensed as a HVAC technician. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association; and the Thursday Night golf league at Yankee Run Golf Course, Brookfield, Ohio.

George loved life! He absolutely adored being with his family and friends. He never met a stranger and would always jump at the chance to get together with his buddies. He was habitually late to everything. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, was an avid hunter, and excelled as a breeder of springer spaniels. He had an attraction to birds, especially hummingbirds & chickadees, which he actually held in his hand. He was a big Pittsburgh sports fan - Steelers & Pirates. Finally, he always watched golf on TV, and he never missed playing at a Quaker Steak & Lube Golf Outing. He was extremely proud of the trophy he received from their event.

He is survived by: his bride, Judy L. (Kettler) Balluch, whom he married August 20, 1994; his children, George Balluch, IV, of Masury, and Abby S. Balluch (Marquies Coleman), of Hubbard, Ohio; his granddaughter, Rylee "Poopla"; his mother, Fay, of Sharon; his siblings, Chris Balluch, of Sharon, Pamela McClure (Gary), of Fairland, Indiana, and Dee Anderson, of Sharon; his many nieces & nephews; his Godchildren, Ellen Mechling & Miriam Necastro; his hunting buddies; his fur babies, Marvilow & Luna; and his countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; by his niece, Michelle Worona; and by his pup-pup, "Iko".
