William "Bill" Warren Cook, of Brookfield, Ohio, entered eternal peace on Saturday, January 17, 2026. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at 63.
Bill was born on July 24, 1962, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the son of Warren William Cook and Helen (Tatusko) Cook.
He was a 1980 graduate of Hubbard High School and continued his education at ETI in Niles, Ohio.
For many years, Bill worked as a skilled HVAC technician, a trade he learned from his father and took great pride in.
He was a member of the American Carpo-Russian Club of Sharon and the National Rifle Association.
Bill was many things. He was an avid reader—arguably Stephen King’s biggest fan—and he passed his love of books on to his daughter, inspiring her passion for storytelling and writing. He enjoyed target shooting. He was also a musician, playing bass guitar and performing throughout the area alongside many local musicians over the years.
Above all, Bill was known for his carefree spirit, quick wit, and unforgettable sense of humor. A natural jokester, he had an uncanny ability to make people laugh, no matter how bad their day had been. He was the master of nicknames—so much so that many friends are still known by the names he gave them. In recent days, stories shared by friends and family have painted a vivid picture of Bill: memories filled with music, laughter, cheering on the Cleveland Browns, and moments that perfectly captured his one-of-a-kind personality.
Bill was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and friend. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Cook, of Hubbard, Ohio; his wife of 36 years, Mary Kay (Weimer) Cook, whom he married on May 6, 1989; his daughter, Stephanie Botticelli (Brian) of Hubbard; and his brother, John Cook (Laurie) of Seville, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Warren William Cook.
A time of gathering in Bill’s honor will be held from 4-7 PM Friday, January 23, 2026, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403, where a prayer service will conclude the evening.
