Virginia "Gini" Zanolli

Virginia “Gini” Ann Zanolli, 71, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Sharon Regional Health Care Center Hospice and Palliative Care Center after an extended illness.

Virginia was born on September 29, 1947, a daughter to the late Elsie and Mac McLane. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Mac Jr., in 1977.

She graduated from Boardman High School in 1965, attended Kent State University, and retired from Reyers Shoe Store in 2017 after 30 years of service.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Jeff; a son, Rich, and daughter, Laura, both of Michigan; 5 grandchildren; and in-laws, Dee and Pat Zanolli.

“This is a testament to the person Virginia was to me, her husband. She was my best friend before she was my wife. She was a free spirit, a beautiful soul, and the love of my life. She was the best friend you could ever have. She always had a smile on her face, and was eager to help you if she could. Even after she became ill, she had a smile on her face when she could. She continued to make friends and cheer up people she did not know. I got her a dog, Jake, to keep her company during the hard days, and it turns out she got the dog for me for when she was no longer here. So in closing, friends and relatives, who read this testament from me, her husband, know what a loving and caring person she was, and made us all better human beings for having known her. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and loved her. As we always told each other: See ya, love ya, bye.”
