Thomas P. Tyran, of Girard, Ohio, peacefully passed from this life on Monday, June 1, 2026, while at home following a period of declining health. He was 75.
Thomas was born July 21, 1950, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son to Dr. T.S. Tyran & Mildred J. (Lark) Tyran.
A 1968 graduate of Kennedy Christian High School, he furthered his education at Westminster College, where he obtained a bachelor degree in Psychology in 1972.
Shortly thereafter, he enlisted with the U.S. Army to defend our flag and to help keep our country free. His decorations and commendations include: Sharp Shooter Badge with an M-16, National Defense Service Medal, and Joint Services Commendation Medal. He was honorably discharged from his duties with the rank of Specialist E-5.
While on leave, he married the love of his life, the former Mary J. McNeelege, on March 2, 1974. Together they started a family and born to this union were two children, Sean and Elizabeth.
After relocating to Florida, Tom primarily worked as a laborer for Peninsula Woodworks, Largo, Florida, although he had various vocations during his lifetime.
He was a member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sharon, and St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Masury, Ohio. In addition, he was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Struthers, Ohio.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, traveling to Hawaii & Arizona, visiting their timeshare in Florida, solving crossword puzzles, playing golf, camping on the weekends, and sitting peacefully by the ocean watching the waves.
Mourning his loss are: his wife, Mary; son, Sean Tyran (Jenny Romano), of Warren, Ohio; daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Berry (Brent), of Brookfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Thomas Tyran, Stephen Hayes (Celina Gillespie), and Mason Tyran; several nieces and nephews; as well as close friend, Bill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Tyran; and nephews, David McNeelege & Chad Tyran.
In accordance with his wishes, no calling hours or services will be held.
