Thomas Harold Torma, 81, of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away August 24, 2025.
He was born on December 11, 1943, to the late John and Mildred (Pennman) Torma.
Tom was an avid golfer whose love for the game began in childhood, growing up across the street from Yankee Run Golf Course. Encouraged by his mother, he developed a natural talent that carried him onto the Brookfield Warrior golf team, where he and his teammates reached the state tournament in the early 1960s. For their accomplishments, the team was later inducted into the Brookfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
He was a 1961 graduate of Brookfield High School and worked as a craneman at Sharon Steel until its shutdown.
Throughout his life, Tom remained deeply connected to the sport of golf. He competed in many local tournaments but cherished his time in the Friday night Sharon Steel League the most, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of coworkers and friends along with Miller Lites. He won multiple club championships throughout his years, however, the pinnacle of his golfing career came in 1981, when he qualified for the United States Public Links Championship in Indianapolis.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, John "Sandy" Torma; and his daughter, Christine Torma.
He is survived by his brother, Karl Torma; his children, Tim Torma, Tracey Tallman, Stacey Torma, and Tammy Torma; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
