Thomas Allen Matthews

Thomas Allen Matthews, of Sharon, Pennsylvania, transitioned from this life on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, while at home, following a sudden illness. He was 80.

Thomas was born on March 13, 1946, in Sharon, a son to Richard & Mattie (Smith) Matthews.

Self was forgotten when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy to defend our flag and help keep our country free. He was honorably discharged from his duties with the rank of E-3.

He retired from Packard Electric where he worked in the packing department.

In his spare time, he enjoyed writing poetry, watching movies, and taking scenic road trips.

Survivors include: longtime companion, Ona Hulley; sister, Lenora Flint (Elmer); daughters, Renay, Olivia, Grace, and Mindy; sons, Sheldon (wife, Cynthia), Melvin, Thomas (wife, Jennifer), Shaun, Stepfon (wife, Latoya), Kahn (wife, Atlasia), Rondell, Roman, Shane, Matthew, Damon, Cecil, Muhammed (wife, Shanyce), Phillip, Michael, Justin, Jasper, Richard, and Mark; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grands and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Larene Matthews; daughter, Yolanda Grannison; and sons, Carmen Askernesse & Sloane Matthews.

In accordance with his wishes, no calling hours or services will be scheduled.
