Shamarae “Ray Ray” L. Nearhoof-Byerly, of Pulaski, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021. She was 41.
Shamarae was born in Mesquite, Texas on November 4, 1979, a daughter to Houston W. Nearhoof, Jr. and Nikola L. (Negrea) Nearhoof.
She graduated from Sharon High School in 1998 and attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
She had most recently worked as a merchandiser for SASR.
In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, drawing, shopping, camping, and being outdoors. She especially liked to travel, visiting many National Parks along her way. She liked music and was selfless to a fault. Ray Ray had the spirit of a gypsy and soul of an angel. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include: her children, Zachary M. Lyons, of Sharon, Pennsylvania, Rayli J. Mowery, Hunter M. Mowery, and Leigha M. Mowery, all of Warren, Ohio; her father, Houston Jr. & Lauri Gandy, of Sharon; her mother, Nikola & Scott E. Crowley, of Fredonia, Pennsylvania; her second mom, Rickie Wasser, of Sharon; her siblings, Christopher D. Negrea, of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, (her twin) Houston W. Nearhoof, III, & Melissa Zyak, of Masury, Ohio, Austina M. Hutchins & Walter IV, of Transfer, Pennsylvania, Guy W. Simpson, of Girard, Ohio, Evan E. Simpson & Melissa, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, and Tracee A. Wasser, of Sharon; and she was an awesome aunt to her many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Brandee M. Simpson.
A time of gathering in honor of Shamarae will be held Friday, May 7, 2021, from 4-7 PM in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located on the historic village green at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403.
