Samia Kupensky

Samia A. Kupensky of Masury, Ohio, entered eternal rest at 9:40 PM Sunday, August 31, 2014, as a patient and under the care of the Hospice House, Poland, Ohio, following a brief illness. She was 57.

Samia was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on October 27, 1956, a daughter to Samuel A. and Julia A. (Korab) Kupensky.

A 1974 graduate of Brookfield High School, she furthered her education by attending Youngstown State University.

She found employment as a secretary for Saints Adalbert & Anthony Catholic Churches, both in Farrell, Pennsylvania, where she dedicated over 30 years of service.

A very devoted daughter, she was proud to be the caregiver for her mother during her declining health and ultimate passing just a few short months ago.

In her spare time, Samia enjoyed embracing nature as an organic gardener, feeding her birds, and looking after her family. She was a master at her craft in crocheting and knitting, especially being known for her handmade socks. She also had been very active with the Prayer Shawl Ministry through the Unity Church Centre, Girard, Ohio.

Survivors include: her brothers, Kyle M. Kupensky & his wife Diane, Masury, Kevin J. Kupensky & his wife Paula, Bradenton, Florida, and Kirk L. Kupensky, Youngstown, Ohio; and her nephews, Nicholas & Corey Kupensky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her sister, Sonali M. Kupensky.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Farrell, next to her family.
