Roy Tucker
June 25, 1931 — December 4, 2015
Roy Lee Tucker, of Brookfield, Ohio, was called home at 8:25 am Friday, December 4, 2015, at his residence while surrounded by the love of his family. He was 84.
Roy was born June 25, 1931, in Summerset, Kentucky, a son to Arnold & Lois (Bray) Tucker.
He found employment for Industrial Rayon Inc., Paynesville, Ohio, where he worked for 18 years. Later on, he was hired as an Electrician for Packard Electric, Warren, Ohio, where he provided continued support for his family retiring in 1988 after 24 years of service.
His memberships included the International Union of Electrical Workers Local #717 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, Warren.
In his spare time, he enjoyed going to flea markets, wetting a line at his favorite fishing hole, and metal detecting. He is probably best remembered for his smoking pipes; one in his mouth and two on standby, packed and ready to lite.
He is survived by his wife, the former Nancy K. Duncan, whom he married July 25, 1976; his son, Michael L. Tucker, Sun Valley, California; his daughters, Marie Tucker, Brea, California, Betty Sue "Susie" Avery, Ashtabula, Ohio, Rebecca J. Tucker, Youngstown, Ohio, Gracie DeLong (Paul), Sharon, Pennsylvania, Debbie Kerins, Dallas, Texas, Beverly C. Martin (James), Brookfield, Ohio, and Harrietta Titus, Hermitage, Pennsylvania; his brothers, Leighton Tucker (Millie), Summerset, Raymond Tucker (Alice), Austinburg, Ohio, and Earl C. Tucker (Sue), Geneva, Ohio; his sisters, Fay Pinelli (Cosie), Venice, Florida, and Gertrude Muto, Geneva; his 25 Grandchildren; his 30 great-grandchildren; and his one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his son, William "Billy" H. Dias; and by his brother, Arnold & Donlad Tucker.
A time of gathering to honor Roy will be held from 4-7 pm Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. His celebration continues on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove Street, Brookfield, with a funeral service at 11 am. He will be laid to rest in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
