Robert "Bob" Durkos

Robert Durkos, 80, of Masury, Ohio, passed into the loving arms of his beloved Ellen during the evening hours of Thursday, April 23, 2026, following a period of declining health.

Robert was born on April 8, 1946, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son to Joseph and Julia Mary (Rocco) Durkos.

During his working days, he labored in the local mills. National Castings, Ivor J. Lee, and Trinity Industries were the most notable before he retired.

In his younger days, between 1972 & 1977, Bob was a professional wrestler who trained at Lou Klein’s Gym in Ellen Park, Michigan. He was known as a jobber, part time, and wrestled under Vince McMahon, Sr., Bruno Sammartino, and Johnny Powers. He was also associated with the National Wrestling Federation, Whipper Billy Watson in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He traveled across most of America, especially between Canada and Tennessee. His ring name constantly changed and he worked as a “heel or babyface” in the industry.

Survivors include: his brother, Joseph F. Durkos, of Hubbard, Ohio; and Joe’s children, John Durkos and wife, Bernadette, of Stow, Ohio, Yvonne Gahagan and husband, James, of Vienna, Ohio, and Frank Durkos and wife, Kimberly, of Hubbard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Ellen Hoff-Durkos, whom he married in 2001, she passed on December 4, 2025.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.

He will be laid to rest with his wife Ellen in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
