Rev. Frances Marian Glass

Rev. Frances Marian Glass, of Brookfield, Ohio, peacefully passed through the pearly gates above on Thursday, February 19, 2026, while a patient at the Continuing Healthcare of Niles, following a period of declining health. She was 82.

Marian, as she was affectionately called, was born April 12, 1943, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a

daughter to Alfred M. & Mary Elizabeth (Stillwagon) Glass.

A 1962 graduate of Lehman High School, Canton, Ohio, she furthered her education at Ohio University, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in education. Marian was an elementary / kindergarten teacher prior to responding to her call to serve the church.

Her walk to serve her Lord and Savior began when she was a child and joined the United Methodist Church with her family. She was eventually ordained a Deacon and then Elder of the United Methodist Church. Locally, she was assigned as the Pastor of the former Masury United Methodist Church. She served several United Methodist Churches over the years including: Cumberland, Powhatan Point, Amity, Kinsman, Fowler, Everals, Kings, and Masury.

In retirement, Marian was a member of the Brookfield United Methodist Church and the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.

In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, going out to dinner, and playing cards with her friends.

Survivors include her friends: Robert Strealy, Marty Jacobson, Christina Lee, Pastor Dick Smith, and the congregation of the Brookfield United Methodist Church.

A very special thank you to the many caregivers over the years as well as to Continuing Healthcare of Niles and the wonderful nurses of Buckeye Hospice and Palliative Care.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Sally Jean Glass.

A time of gathering to honor Rev. Glass will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 11:00 – 12:00 PM, at the Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove Street, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. Her celebration continues with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest with family in Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens, North Canton, Ohio.
