Ray A. Gibson, of Sharon, Pennsylvania, transitioned from this life on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, following a period of declining health. He was 60.
Ray, whose sunrise was March 10, 1966, in Sharon, as he was born a son to Willie C. & Willar D. (Walker) Gibson.
He graduated from Farrell High School in 1984, and was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Sharpsville, Pennsylvania.
Ray worked in a variety of capacities throughout his lifetime. After high school, he worked with his family at Tri-County Drywall, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Detroit, Michigan. He may be remembered as a caregiver for George Junior Republic, Grove City, Pennsylvania, direct support professional at ABDD, Hermitage, Pennsylvania, and as a cook at Quaker Steak & Lube and the former Seafood Express, both in downtown Sharon.
In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking and cheering for his Dallas Cowboys. Additionally, he was known as a lady’s man. However, Ray loved his grandchildren dearly and looked forward to cutting their hair on his porch. He was a great family man who loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include: his daughters, Kiesha Gibson, of Jonesboro, Georgia, Tiffany Hopson, of Farrell, Pennsylvania, Cierra Harden, of Sharon, Clarissa Harden, of Farrell, and Tawona Jones, of Sharon; son, Phillip Hosch, Sr. (Elouise), of Farrell; grandchildren, Tyrese Gibson, Daepreea Gibson, Kylon Wilson, Demarco Hosch, Tahjmere Gibson, TaeMar Pierce, TaeLyn Hopson, Jelani Hosch, Taj Johnson, and Dashawn George; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; brother, Stephen Gibson (Antonia), of Sharon; sister, Virginia Thurman (Robert), of Farrell; and significant other, Nikki McCullough.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Antonio Gibson; daughter, LaTasha Gibson; grandchildren, Ja’Mere Whitman, twins, Anthony & Antonio Gibson; siblings, Lorethea Chambers, Willye Faye Winchester, Roy Gibson, Jerry Gibson, and Corrina Gibson.
A Home Going service will be held in his honor on Monday, June 29, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM, at the Second Baptist Church, 4 High Street, Sharpsville, Pennsylvania 16150, where family and friends may pay their respects one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
