Randy "Cuddles" Elesie Hailstock, 67, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away suddenly on January 14, 2026, after sustained injuries of being struck by a vehicle.
Randy was born on June 13, 1958, in Farrell, Pennsylvania, to Arverdison Hailstock Sr. and Sara (Hooker) Hailstock. He was a graduate of Farrell High School and later attended Pittsburgh Beauty/Barber School, where he developed the skills for a career he truly loved. A barber by trade, Randy was known for his gift of conversation just as much as his talent behind the chair.
He was truly the life of the party. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he never missed an opportunity to show his team pride. He loved telling corny jokes—the kind you laughed at simply because they were so corny—and he had a way of making everyone feel welcome. And, if you asked him, he would proudly tell you he was a 3rd-degree black belt in Kung Fu (or at least that’s how he told it, lol). Above all, Randy cherished spending time with his daughters, Shawndell and Shanwté (He never called them by their first names), and with his family. His love for them was evident in everything he did.
Randy is survived by his daughters, Tamika Pinkins (fiancée John McLean) of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, and Janilla Lincoln (Johnta) of Youngstown, Ohio; stepdaughters, Rosalind Hornbuckle, Arlette Wilson (Norman), and Leslie Somerset-Pope; brothers, Arverdison Hailstock Jr. (Stephanie) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Stanley Hailstock (Michele) of Woodruff, South Carolina, Shawn Hailstock of Farrell, and Donald Campbell (Lee) of Gary, Indiana; sisters, Carolyn Hailstock (Pat) of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Felicia Hailstock of Milwaukee, and Traci Hailstock-Austin of Wheeling, West Virginia. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, LaRail White, De’Andrea (Deuce) Pinkins, Janazia Womack, Ervin (Tre) May, Wuan Oliver, Dwan Rogers, Jordyne Scott, Jazmyne Scott, Scottie Hornbuckle Jr., Daijah Rogers, Dailon Rogers, Lyriq Turner, Symone Somerset, Alonzo Scott Jr., and Jordan Wilson; great-grandchildren, A’Shawn Smith and Ra’Niya Rice-Pinkins. Randy also leaves behind special friends, Patricia Griffin, Rosa "Mama" Hornbuckle, Barry Holloway, LaVern Johnson, and Bill Dungee Sr.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dr. Lorraine Smoot-Hailstock; paternal grandparents, Rev. Elesie Hailstock and Clara Hailstock; maternal grandparents, Plummer and Sally Henry; brothers Ronald Hailstock and Samuel (Sam) Hailstock; sister, Sandy Hailstock; and step-son, Scottie Hornbuckle Sr.
Randy’s laughter, stories, and larger-than-life personality will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Monday, January 26, 2026, a Celebration of Life Service, will begin at 11:00 AM, where family and friends may pay their respects from 10:30 – 11:00 AM, at Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon-New Castle Rd., Farrell. Officiated by Rev. T. James Harrison, and Eulogist, Rev. Walter Gillespie.
