Nancy Olivia Randle Gillespie, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Farrell, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 19, 2026, while at home after an extended illness. She was sixty-eight years old.
Ms. Gillespie was born March 20, 1958, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a daughter to Ruth Randle Williams.
Nancy was reared by her mother, maternal grandparents, Mary and George Thomas, and her aunt and uncle, Mrs. Louise and Robert Newby Sr.
She graduated from Farrell High School in 1976 and she furthered her education by attending nursing school.
Nancy left the Shenango Valley to move to Jacksonville, where she retired from being a foreman at an oil plant. Her goal was to enjoy the rest of her remaining days with her daughter Jalisa, and grandchildren, Janiah, Amere, Keyaun, Christopher, and Jaleah. She took care of them very well.
She may be remembered working as a private home health aide in various nursing homes including Clepper’s, Nugent’s, Obrien’s, and The Haven. She always loved to care for others and to make sure they received the best care possible and did it all with a smile.
Nancy also enjoyed decorating family member’s homes, going to garage sales, cooking for everyone, thrifting, driving others out of town, and most of all Bingo. If you couldn’t find her on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, just call State Street Bingo and you would find her there. Every Bingo caller or worker knew her personally.
If you knew Nancy, you would know that she would give you advice that would change your life. She was a compassionate person, but also stern (for your own good). She took much pride in being a good mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her life and she spoiled all of them.
Ms. Gillespie was a member of Greater Mount Zion COGIC, Farrell, Pennsylvania, under the leadership of Superintendent Wilbert G. Hadden. In which, she had to take a leave of absence pursuing God’s plans and purpose for her life. She took joy in her biblical studies with her friends and family. She was loved greatly by all and became a bonus sister to their children.
Nancy leaves behind a legacy of love, daughter, Jalisa Kirkland, of Jacksonville; sons, Mondeelo Gillespie (fiancé Amanda Porterfield), of Farrell, and Rio Gilchrist, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; she helped rear Terrica Culp; and step daughter, Dawn Pinkins, of Farrell; a loving God-son, Cory (Trish) Burns, of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Janiah Kirkland, Keyaun Bradley, Amere Bradley, Christopher Bolden, Jaleah Bolden, Nevaeh Gillespie, Mondeelo Gillespie Jr., Deyontay Gillespie, LaResha Norris, Sinai Gilchrist, and Zyaire Singletary; sisters, Slippers (Pastor Larry) Mabins, Pastor Marie Wiley, Karole Thomas, and Liz Jasper, all of Erie, Pennsylvania; brother, George Randle; bonus brother, Bavail Blakely, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; bonus sisters/cousins, Roberta Seay, of Atlanta, Georgia, Peggy (Hugo) Washington, of Sharon, and Dianna Newby, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; special bonus sister/aunt, Katherine (John) Holland, of Farrell; bonus brother/uncle, George B.
