Dorothy Mae Prince, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, peacefully transitioned on Sunday, September 21, 2025, while at home and surrounded by the love of her family. She was 97.
Mrs. Dorothy was born September 25, 1927, in Mullins, South Carolina, a daughter to Jesse & Henrietta Evans.
She fell in love with a gentleman by the name of Mike Prince. They held hands for the next 40 years until his passing on August 20, 1994.
Mrs. Prince was a member and mother of First Baptist Church, Farrell, Pennsylvania. She was known as a well- respected babysitter throughout the community and a proud homemaker for her family.
In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and baking. Some of her signature dishes were fried chicken, collard greens, candied yams, and sweet tea. She shared her love one meal at a time.
Mourning her loss are her children, Larry Prince, of Columbus, Ohio, Pamela Prince, of Orlando, Florida, Linda Blue (Michael), of Farrell, Gloria Campbell (Derrick), of Hermitage, and Denise Evans, a granddaughter whom she raised as a daughter; grandchildren, Maurice Evans (Lateshia), Michael Archie (Crystal), Carl James (Michelle), Iesha O'Kane (Esnesto), Michael Davis (Alyssa), DeMarco Prince (Bridgette), Keisha Tann (Darrell), Diana Prince, Alesha Blue, Jamel Prince, Rashad Campbell, & Dorian Prince; 27 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; Godsons, Jason & James Drummond; and good friend, Donald Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; daughter, Alama Jean Evans; son, Wesley Prince; siblings, Wilbert, Wesley, Albertus, Louise, & Lillie Mae; as well as Godson, Lemuel Hughes.
A Home Going Service to honor her life will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at First Baptist Church, 1120 Darr Avenue, Farrell, with Rev. T. James Harrison, officiating. Family & friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM also in the church. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
