In Loving Memory of Mozelle “Jesse” Goudy Sr.

February 13, 1948 – October 15, 2026

Rest in Heavenly Peace

Mozelle “Jesse” Goudy Sr., 78 years old, was born on February 13, 1948, in Meridian, Mississippi, to his parents, Preston Walk and Jewell Goudy Newell. Jesse lived a life filled with love, family, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Jesse found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He dedicated more than 20 years of his life to working as a truck driver, traveling across the country before retiring. He was also a member of Valley Baptist Church. Jesse enjoyed fishing, watching movies, and cheering on his beloved Cleveland Browns. Above all, he treasured spending quality time with his grandchildren. Those special moments created lasting memories that his family will cherish for generations. Whether enjoying his favorite pastimes, sharing stories, or simply being surrounded by loved ones, Jesse found his greatest joy in the things that mattered most—faith, family, and togetherness.

Jesse leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his nine children: David Smith, Mozelle Goudy Jr., and Stephanie (Mike) Kelly, all of Farrell, Pennsylvania, Kimberly Goudy, of Sharon, Pennsylvania, Tiffany (Marcus) Harris, of Clinton, Iowa, Alphonso Jackson, Charlotte Jackson, and Cenita Wilson, all of Cleveland, Ohio, and Charene Jackson, of Wheatland, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his stepson, Aaron (Dondie) Smith; his brother, Joseph Goudy, of Farrell; his godson, Paul Taylor; and his special friend, Isiah Dixon.

Jesse was also blessed with 30 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will continue to honor his memory and carry his legacy forward.

Jesse was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Diane Smith Goudy; parents; brother, Willie “Butch” Newell; sisters, Carolyn Newell Holloway, Elizabeth “Liz” Pullium, Doris Newell, and Savannah Newell; nephews, Jeremiah Newell and Marques Smith; and niece, Jewel Newell.

Although Jesse's passing leaves a void that can never truly be filled, the love he shared, the memories he created, and the legacy he leaves behind will live on through his family. His life touched many hearts, and his presence became part of countless treasured stories and unforgettable moments. While his family mourns his absence, they find comfort in knowing that the love and memories they shared with him will remain forever.

Jesse will be remembered for his humor, his stories, his love for his family, and the special way he touched the lives of those around him. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, his spirit will continue to live on through the generations of family he leaves behind.

Rest peacefully, Jesse. Your journey on earth is complete, but your love, laughter, and legacy will live on forever.

A time of gathering in his honor will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 10-11 AM, at Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon-New Castle Rd., Farrell, Pennsylvania 16121, where a home going service will follow at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor T. Harrison and eulogist Dr. Sherese Dungee-Newell.
