Mary "Margie" Greguric

September 11, 1947 — June 27, 2015

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend

Mary "Margie" Greguric, 67 of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015 after unexpected complications from surgery.

Margie was born on September 11, 1947 in Sharon, Pa., to the late Ralph and Marianna Gardlock.  She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years Steve Greguric of Brookfield, OH, her sisters Mrs. Patricia Stevens of Sharon, Mrs. Andrea DeLuca of New Castle, Mrs. Suzanne Klamer of Sharon, and Mr. Ralph Gardlock, Jr. of New Castle.

She considered her five children her greatest accomplishment. They include LCDR Stephen Opalenik, Jr. USN (wife Elizabeth) of Pensacola, FL; Mr. Chad Opalenik of Gulf Breeze, FL; MSgt Darin Opalenik, USAF (Ret) (wife Linda Flores) of Cebu City, Philippines; Mrs. Julie George (husband AMC Scott George, USN (Ret)) of Pensacola, FL and Ms. Tammy "Opie" Opalenik (Fiancé Michael Messer) of Hermitage, PA.

She had ten grandchildren that were her pride and joy. Stephen III and Abbey of Pensacola, FL; Heather and great grandchild Lucas of Kaneohe HI, Carmen and AJ of Cebu City, PI; Scott and Jakson of Pensacola, FL and Conner and Aiden of Hermitage, PA.

Margie loved to have fun and make others feel welcomed.  Margie was a homemaker, self employed and worked at Wheatland Tube Company for 13 years.  Before their retirement in 2008, she worked side by side with her husband Steve for 14 years as owners and operators of the Marigold Bar & Grill in Sharon, PA.  A safe neighborhood bar where friends gathered to hear a jukebox with oldies records spinning or order a traditional pressed ribeye steak sandwich.  Margie's #1 Rule: No Vulgar Language.  She enjoyed singing Patsy Cline, playing bingo and dominos with her husband.  They belonged to several card clubs where she enjoyed playing the game of euchre.  Since retirement, Margie enjoyed working in her yard, visiting her children and going on cruises with her husband Steve.

Margie will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who had the pleasure to know her. She had the kindest heart and would always do what she could to help others. May God rest her soul.

A time of gathering to honor Margie will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, from 3-6 PM at Briceland Funeral Service, 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. Her celebration continues with a service at 6 PM.
