Mary Jane “MJ” Schultz, of Vienna, Ohio, entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the home of her daughter Sally following a period of declining health. She was 94.

Mary Jane was born April 23, 1921, at home in Girard, a daughter to Julius C. & Katherine (Podoluk) Hentosh.

A 1939 graduate from Girard High School, she married James W. Schultz on August 31, 1946 and together started a family. Born to this union were seven children: Gary, Gregory, Janalyn, Gayle, Maureen, Laurie, and Sally. She was a proud homemaker for her family.

She was a former member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Vienna; the Over 55 Club, Liberty; the Women’s Auxiliary of the Sacred Heart; as well as a lady’s card club and garden club.

In her spare time, MJ loved traveling; wintering in Naples, Florida with her husband; and playing the “one-armed bandits” in Las Vegas with her daughters. However, her sanctuary was found when she tended to her flower garden.

She is survived by: her children, Gary J. Schultz (Paula), Vienna, Gregory J. Schultz (Kathy), Liberty Twp., Ohio, Janalyn K. Saloom (Louis), Masury, Ohio, Gayle R. Wright (Dr. Paul), Brookfield, Ohio, Maureen Massaro (Fabian), Liberty Twp., Laurie A. Hixson (Steve), Canfield, Ohio, and Sally E. Schultz, her primary caregiver, Girard; her sister, Frances Krizancic (Joseph), Girard; her sixteen grandchildren; and her ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, who passed October 15, 2004; and by her brothers, Mike, Stephen, & John Hentosh.

In accordance to her wishes, services conducted by Fr. Henry C. Andrae will be private . She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Dugan Cemetery, Fowler, Ohio.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Valley c/o the funeral home.
