Mary Lou Jarvis

Mary Lou Jarvis, longtime resident of Howland, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, while a patient at Shepherd of the Valley, Liberty Campus, following an extended illness. She was 90.

Mary Lou was born in Cookport, Pennsylvania, on February 2, 1935, a daughter to Carl Jarvis & Zelma Kathryn (Lamer) Jarvis.

She graduated from Howland High School in 1954 and had worked as a medical transcriber for Hillside Hospital, Howland, where she dedicated over 30 years of service to the company before she retired.

She was an active member of the First Church of God, Warren, Ohio. In addition, she was a former Sunday School Teacher and Children’s Pastor at the church.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, painting ceramics, and watching Shirley Temple shows. Furthermore, she loved to study her Bible and praise her Savior.

Survivors include: nieces, Carrie Kossler (Rick), Colleen Fakkas (Angelo), Heather Lamancusa (Charles), & Carlyn Hurst;

nephews, Donald Jarvis, Corey Jarvis, David Hamilton (Rita), & Dennis Hamilton (Tess); many great nieces & nephews; sisters-in-law, Lynda Jarvis and Diane Jarvis; as well as a sister, Karen Lenton.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Don Jarvis, Carl David Jarvis, & James Painter; and sister, Carol Hamilton.

A time of gathering will be held in Mary Lou’s honor on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. Her celebration continues with a funeral service at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest with family in the Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna, Ohio.
