Mary Elizabeth Donaldson

Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Donaldson, of Vienna, Ohio, was welcomed in Heaven by her beloved husband, Jim, and daughter, Heather, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, following an extended illness. She was 91.

Mary was born on January 31, 1935, at home in Masury, Ohio, a daughter to Robert & Mary A. (Allan) Wright.

A 1952 graduate from Brookfield High School, she worked as a data entry clerk for G.A.T.X., Masury Plant. In addition, she also worked for Commercial Data and Electric Data Service before officially retiring.

She had attended the Vienna United Methodist Church, where she was active with the Sisters in Christ Group.

She enjoyed going to casinos, playing cards and other games, and listening to music. However, spending time with her family was what she enjoyed the most; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include: daughter, Amy (David) Sell, of Liberty Township, Ohio; nephew whom she raised as a son, Jamie Wright, of Campbell, Ohio; grandchildren, Lindsey (Logan) Moritz, Christina (Adam) Carpenter, Jaedon (Andrea) Sell, and Taylor Sell; and great-grandchildren, Connor, Elizabeth & Grace Moritz, and Nathan and Cameron Carpenter; as well as extended family too.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, James “Jim” Donaldson, whom she married December 1, 1956. They held hands until his passing on April 26, 2020; daughter & son-in-law, Heather & Ron Mickel; and brothers, James Wright & Edgar Wright.

A memorial gathering will be held in her honor on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 10:30 to 12:30 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. A memorial service will follow beginning at 12:30 PM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
