Marlene Powell, of Masury, Ohio, passed away on May 12, 2025. She was 82 years old.
Born May 14, 1942, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Dorothy E. (Hartley) Mild.
Marlene was a 1960 graduate of Hickory High School and was employed for 5 years, after graduation, with the firm of Elliott-Finucane and Company, CPA’s of Sharon.
Marlene married Norman “Norm” E. Powell, of Brookfield, Ohio, on September 28, 1963. She was married to Norm for 45 years when she lost him to cancer in 2008.
She was a homemaker until 1983 and then she was employed at Orange Village Care Center, in Masury, as a laundry and housekeeping worker until 2000.
Marlene was a lifelong member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Lackawannock Township, where she was married and also served as a Deacon.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting, and embroidery. In addition, she also loved baking, camping, and being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Kevin Powell, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Brian Powell & his wife Cindy, of Diamond, Ohio; three grandchildren, Thomas, Tyler & his wife Natalie, and Danielle & her husband Christian; and great-grandchildren, Wrenley Powell, and Kaison Milhoan.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Marjorie Fitting, who died in 1990 of Scleroderma.
In accordance to her wishes, private family services were held.
