Marcus "Bud" Brashear

December 6, 1938 — June 29, 2016

Marcus “Bud” G. Brashear, of Brookfield, Ohio, left this world on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, while a patient at Shepherd of the Valley, Howland, Ohio, following an extended illness. He was 77.

Bud was born December 6, 1938 in Allais, Kentucky, a son to Everett & Daisy E. (Reeves) Brashear.

After an honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force, he worked for General Motors Company, Lordstown, Ohio, as a Shipping Clerk for 29 years before retiring and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local # 1112. In addition, he was a member of the Brookfield United Methodist Church.

Bud loved fishing. He enjoyed camping and fishing trips with his family to Canada every year. In his spare time, he was an avid reader of western novels and searching for fossils among the river rocks. However, closest to his heart, was doting on his grandchildren.

Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Jean (Gibson) Brashear, whom he married January 23, 1960; his daughter, Jeanette Lynn Blake & her husband Michael, Madison, Ohio; his grandchildren, Danielle Brant, Brookfield, & Garrick Brant & his wife Elizabeth, Madison; and his brother, Wallace Brashear, Monroe, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A time of gathering to honor Bud will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016, from 10 to 12 PM at Briceland Funeral Service, located on the historic village green at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. His funeral service will immediately follow at 12 noon. He will be laid to rest in Brookfield Township Cemetery.

As suggested by his family, memorial contributions can be made to the church c/o the funeral home.
