Major “Maj” Lowe, Sr., of Masury, Ohio, transitioned from this life at 11:20 PM Wednesday, July 9, 2025, while a patient at UPMC, Passavant-McCandless Campus, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, following a brief illness. He was 75.
Major was born October 28, 1949, in Andalusia, Alabama, a son to Leonard Lowe, Sr. and Elizabeth (Jones) Lowe.
Drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, he was assigned to Company E, 1st Battalion, 46th Infantry, of the 196th Infantry Brigade. His decorations and citations include: National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, 1 Overseas Service Bar, and Sharpshooter with an M-16. He was honorably discharged from his duties with the rank of Specialist, E-4.
Following his return home, Major found employment as a tool & die repairman at Howell Industries, Masury. However, he dedicated the next 30 plus years of his career alongside his Graham Stamping Family in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
He was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Church of God, Hubbard, Ohio; the VFW Post #5286, Farrell, Pennsylvania; and the former Shenango Valley Softball League.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool, spending time with his grandkids, attending their many sporting events, all sports from Cleveland, and scratch-off tickets. He believed deeply in family, love, and being present in the moment. Maj was supportive to those he loved and will be truly missed.
Survivors include: the love of his life and forever partner, Patty Pacsi, of Masury; children, Major Lowe, Jr. (Valerie), of Tallahassee, Florida, and Lynette Gaut (John), of Hubbard; grandchildren, Xavier Lowe (Brittany), Ke'Andre Lowe, Derrick Roberts, RaJaun Lowe, Anthony Roberts, Riana Lowe, Kaden Lowe, Ava Johnson, & Liam Gaut; great-grandchildren, Landon & Skylar Lowe; siblings, Linda Maxwell, of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Leonard Lowe, Jr. (Janice), of Sharon, Pennsylvania; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Lowe.
To honor Major's wishes, no funeral services or calling hours will be held.
The Family has decided to hold a Celebration of Life Service to honor Major at a later date.
