Laura Y. Simmons Flint

Laura Y. Simmons Flint, 69 years old, passed on July 16, 2026, in Southern Hills Medical Center, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Born September 21, 1956, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a daughter to the late Louise Simmons Chambers and Ben Jefferson.

She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a 1974 graduate of Farrell High School. She worked at Eat-n-Park for many years until she relocated to South Carolina in 2010. Then once again in 2020 to Las Vegas with her daughter.

Survivors include: children, Janel Flint, Jr., Luriah Fenner, and Desiree Flint-Noerant (Joshua); grandchildren, Marzyier Fenner, Luryce Hughes, Ja’Aliyah Mae Robinson, Trista Mae Scott, Kyla Alexander, Jazmine Alexander, and Jo’Veah Noerant; niece whom she reared, Tashan “Tookie” Whiteside; sisters, Mary Gregory, Jackie Sanders, Mae Frances Ross, Patricia Jefferson, Emma Arrington, Martha Jacobs, Michelle Jacobs, Karen Jefferson, Cora Arrington, and Gloria Fore; brothers, Dale Ross, Willie Arrington, and Tyrone Jacobs; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Janel “Lump” Flint, Sr; daughter, Tessie Fenner; grandson, Tristan Scott; sisters, Barbara Ann Lampkins, Joyce Easterling, and Cheri Jacobs; and brother, Daryl Ross.

A memorial gathering will be held in her honor on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403, where a brief service will follow at 6:00 PM, by Pastor Clevon Dukes.
