Julia Louise Yopp

Julia Louise Yopp, fondly known as “Mother Yopp”, of Farrell, Pennsylvania, was called home as she heard a voice say unto her “Well done, my good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord” on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. She transitioned from this life while a patient at UPMC – Jameson Campus, New Castle, Pennsylvania, following a period of declining health. She was 91.

Julia was born on March 8, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, a daughter to Lawrence Yopp, Sr. and Adele (Dupree) Yopp.

She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and had worked as a Home Health Aide most of her career. Locally, she may be remembered working at Clepper’s Manor and O’Brien’s Nursing Home, or Minority Health.

Mother Emeritus was a title she proudly accepted as a member of the New & Living Way Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, Sharon, Pennsylvania.

In her spare time, she enjoyed watching and discussing soap operas. However, she loved praising the name of her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ the most. Her faith was genuine. Simply put, she loved Jesus and told everyone about Him. She was a kind heart and will truly be missed.

Survivors include: her son, Brian D. Yopp and spouse Christine, Converse, Texas; granddaughters, Brianna, Juliette, & Jazmine Yopp; sister, Sylvia Watts-Yopp; as well as her church family.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Sandra Turnipseed, Sharon Dupree, & Lawrence Yopp, Jr.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
