Judith “Judy” L. Mariano, of Girard, Ohio, formerly of Brookfield, Ohio, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, while a patient at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown, Ohio, following a sudden illness. She was 80.

Judith was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, on November 21, 1945, a daughter to Lawrence & Laverne (Whitmore) Hackett.

She graduated from Brookfield High School in 1963 and furthered her education at Westminster College, where she obtained an associate’s degree in Christian Education.

Judy was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Sharon, and had worked as the church secretary for 15 years.

In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, quilting, & ceramics.

Survivors include: sons, Mark Mariano (Kay), of Girard, and Michael Mariano (Allie), of Greenville, South Carolina; grandson, Chris Mariano (Kate); 4 step-granddaughters; 11 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brothers, Pete Hackett (Barb), of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Brian Hackett (Pat), of Brookfield; sisters, Sylvia Jones (Dan), of Venus, Pennsylvania, and Linda Carbo, of East Palatka, Florida; many nieces & nephews; as well as God-daughter, Amy Lynn Clark.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, Vito Mariano, whom she married May 18, 1967, he passed September 30, 2007; and siblings, Larry Hackett, David Hackett, and Naomi Williams.

A memorial service will be held in Judy’s honor on Saturday, December 13, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, located at 226 W. State Street, Sharon, Pennsylvania 16146. Coffee and donuts will follow in the parlor of the church.
