Joseph Morsillo

Joseph James Morsillo, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018, surrounded by his family as he was a patient at UPMC - Jameson, New Castle, Pennsylvania, following an extended illness. He was 77.

Joseph was born November 7, 1940 in Farrell, Pennsylvania, a son to Patrick & Jean (Reeves) Morsillo.

He graduated from Farrell High School in 1958 and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was assigned to Company B, 1st Brigade, 8th Infantry while at Fort Lewis, Washington, and achieved the rank of Specialist (SP-4).

Following an honorable discharge, he found work as a heater and later as a clerk at the Sharon Steel, Farrell Plant. During this time, Joe was also the original owner & operator of “Our Gangs Lounge” in Sharon.

He was member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Farrell, Sharon American Legion, Farrell Italian Home, and the Farrell Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, doing yard work, and cheering his beloved Pittsburgh Pirates. However, spending time with family & friends, and listening to the Oldies Era music, pleased him the most.

Survivors include: his daughters, Stacy Morsillo, with whom he made his home, and Jolene Reichard, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Ashley Patton (Neil), Chad Likens (Jackie), Bradley Likens (Diana), Shawn Matsko, and Sarah Santiago (Chad Telega); his great-grandchildren, Aubrey & Brady Patton, Nicholas & Lucas Likens, Violet & Oliver Likens, and Issac Santiago Walter; his siblings, Ronald Morsillo, Hermitage; and his nephew, Patrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial celebration of life service will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the Sharon American Legion, 1395 E. State Street, Sharon, Pennsylvania 16146.
