Joan Hartman

Joan E. Hartman, of Cortland, Ohio, found peace when she was called home at 3:45 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2015, while a patient in University Hospital Case Medical Center of Cleveland, Ohio, following a period of declining health. She was 77.

Joan was born April 11, 1938, at home in Hubbard, Ohio, a daughter to John William & Anna Delores (Senich) Kosensky-Brak.

A 1956 graduate of Hubbard High School, she worked as a medical secretary for Northside Hospital, Youngstown, Ohio.

She was catholic by faith and in her spare time, she enjoyed reading herbal & homeopathic remedies, walking, cooking, vegetable gardening, canning, and tending to her house plants.

She is survived by: her children, Jeffrey K. Hartman, Cleveland, Barry M. Hartman & his wife Kelly, Centerburg, Ohio, Jennifer D. Hovanec & her husband Richard, Vienna, Ohio, and Dawn L. Hartman, Fowler, Ohio; her siblings, Donald Kosensky, Glencoe, Oklahoma, and Dorothy J. Dutton, Kinsman, Ohio; and her grandchildren, Zoe Elizabeth Hartman, Tyler, Amanda, & Kara Hovanec.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Donald Leroy Hartman, who died April 15, 2008; and by her sister, Carol Johnson.

In accordance to her wishes, a memorial service will be announced at a later date. She will be laid to rest in Vienna Township Cemetery.
