Jennie Galano

January 1, 1922 — July 25, 2015

Jennie Marie Galano of Masury, Ohio, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10:45 AM while a patient in O’Brien’s Memorial Heath Care Center, peacefully and supported by the love of her family. She was 93.

Jennie was born in Ganister, Pennsylvania on January 1, 1922, a daughter to the late Antonio & Paolina (Conti) Albini.

She married Palmerino Galano on September 5, 1942 and they would spend the next 44 years together until his passing on January 23, 1987.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sharon. Mrs. Galano was full of life, one who enjoyed spending time with her family, preparing Sunday spaghetti dinners, tending to her flower gardens, and keeping up with current events.

Her family includes: Her son, Paul & Karen Galano; their children, Keith Galano; Jill & Rich Francis their children, Zachary Younkins & Kelsey Francis; Jimmy Galano & his son Mark; and Kenny Galano. Her late daughter, Jeanie Kaiser; her children, Joe Kaiser; and Claudia & Jason Harris. Her daughter, Sylvia Galano; her children, Casey Smith; and Danielle & Joe Arceo; their children, Dominic & Madilyn Arceo. Her daughter, Bonnie & James DeCapua; their children, Jami & David Kirila, their children, Sam, Cleo, & Eva Kirila; Reggie & Bill Murtha, their children, Carla & Jimmy Murtha; and Julie & Dr. Mark Palermo, their children, Paulie & Eddie Palermo. Her daughter, Vicki & Nick Bartolin; their children, Nick & Dayleen Bartolin, their children, Nicholas & Antonio James; Jennie & Jim Slabe, their children, Victoria & the late James Joseph Slabe; and Sally & Brad Jordan, their children, Hunter Sprinkle, Ashton & Brody Jordan. Her late son, Anthony Galano. Her daughter, Coleen Galano-Brest; her children, Jessica Brest; Antonia Brest & her companion Steven Gonda, their son, Stevie Gonda. Her daughter, Bernadine & Dave Bayus; their children, Becky Bayus, her children Vinnie & Antanina  Bayus; Nadine & Joe Sivulich, their children, David & Donovan Pawlowski, and Joey Sivulich; and Spike & Cassie Bayus, their son, Jaxson Bayus. Her siblings, Malena Kuminkoski, the late Lou Albini, the late Modesta DiGiammarino, and the late Lena Anthony.

Calling hours will be held to honor Jennie’s life on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 4-7 PM at Briceland Funeral Service, 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. On Thursday, July 30, 2015, a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM will be held in her church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sharon. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
