James "Hoby" Hobart

March 13, 1963 — July 5, 2015

James “Hoby” David Hobart, of Masury, Ohio, passed away early Sunday morning, July 5, 2015, at home as a result of a fire. He was 52.

Hoby was born March 13, 1963, in Toronto, Canada, and had moved to Ohio as a young child. He was a former member of the St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Masury, where he served the parish as an Altar Boy.

He graduated from Hubbard High School in 1982 and was a member of the marching band. After high school, he found employment working at Northstar and Trinity Fabrication. Most recently, he was a crane operator for the Mercer Company, Sharon, Pennsylvania.

He was a great mechanic and could fix everything. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping and fishing.

Survivors include: his parents, Richard & Elizabeth Hobart, Masury; his wife, Tammie Marie (Charlton) Hobart, whom he married on Valentine’s Day in 1998; his brother, John E. Hobart, California; his step-children, Tadd Charlton & Leslie Flynn; his step-Grandchildren, Nicolas Hayes, Carl Magee, Kathleen Fylnn, John Flynn, & Amara Flynn; and his niece & nephew, Natalia Echevestre & Richard Hobart.

A time of gathering to honor Hoby will be held from 10-11 AM Friday, July 10, 2015 at the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, St. Bernadette Catholic Parish, 7800 Locust Street, Masury, Ohio 44438. His celebration continues with a memorial mass at 11 AM.
