Jacob "Jake" S. Brakeman

Jacob “Jake” S. Brakeman, of Masury, Ohio, sadly and unexpectedly passed from this life on Thursday, May 28, 2026, following a sudden illness. He was only 25.

Jake was born February 7, 2001, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son of Paul B. Brakeman, Sr. and Sheila A. (Esmond) Brakeman.

He graduated from Brookfield High School in 2019. He primarily worked as a mechanic, showcasing his talents at several garages and businesses throughout the valley. In addition, he recently started working at Phantom Fireworks.

In his spare time, Jake enjoyed tinkering on cars, playing cornhole, and enjoyed socializing with his family and beloved friends.

Mourning his loss are: his parents, Paul and Sheila, of Masury; siblings, identical twin brother, Joshua J. Brakeman, of Masury, Paul B. Brakeman, Jr., of Sharon, and Krystal Hummell, of Beaufort, North Carolina; companion, Lexy Wozniak, of Warren, Ohio; nephew, Jayden Hummell; several uncles and cousins; aunt, Tonya Hofius; as well as his beloved cat, “Skipper”.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe & Helen Esmond and Russell & Margaret Brakeman; and uncles, Scott & Virgil Brakeman.

A time of gathering to honor Jake will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. He will be laid to rest in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
