H. Pauline Mcelrath

November 2, 1932 — September 18, 2014

H. Pauline McElrath of Vienna, Ohio, heard a voice call upon her “well done good and faithful servant” on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 12:20 PM as she finished her earthly life and started her heavenly journey. She was under the care of Omni Manor Nursing Home & Hospice of the Valley, Youngstown, Ohio and passed after a period of declining health. She was 81.

Pauline was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 2, 1932, a daughter to Nathan E. & Anna E. (Roberts) Thompson.

She loved caring for her family and looking after everyone. In fact, while she was a teenager, she left school after her mother’s death to help raise her seven siblings.

Mrs. McElrath never retired. She was very proud to serve her family as a homemaker. In her spare time, Pauline enjoyed tending to her flower gardens.

Survivors include: her children, Teddy M. Bryant, Weathersfield Twp., Ohio, and Karen J. Kazear & her husband Doug, Vienna; her grandchildren, Michelle Sherman & her husband Dylan, Jeremy Kazear & his wife Tiffanie, & Leandra Nagy & her husband Joe; her great-grandchildren, Gavin, Emma, Caleb, Cohen, Elizabeth, Chloe, & Conor; and her brothers, Ralph Thompson, Donald Thompson & his wife Bonnie, Jimmy Thompson & his wife Rose, Roger "Duke" Thompson & his wife Roberta, and Mike Thompson & his wife Shelia, all of Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her 1st husband, Manual Bryant & her 2nd husband, C. Allen McElrath; by her daughter, Cheryl J. Thomas; by her grandson, Brent Majecic; by her brother, Kenneth Thompson; & by her sister, Wilma Smith.

A time of gathering will be held to honor Pauline’s life on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 5-7 PM in her church, Victory Christian Center, Vienna. Recognition of her continues at 7 PM with a Celebration of Life Service.

As suggested by her family, material contributions can be made to the Victory Christian Center, Vienna, or the Warren Family Mission.

Coordination of this tribute for Pauline will be presented by Daniel Briceland, Owner & Director of Briceland Funeral Service, 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. (330-509-3135)
