George Nick Economides

George Nick Economides, of Masury, Ohio, was received into the loving arms of his beloved Janice early Thursday morning, November 20, 2025, while at home following a period of declining health. He was 83.

George was born July 17, 1942, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son to Nick and Anne (Monogudis) Economides.

He graduated from Brookfield High School in 1960 and was a reservist in the United States Air Forces.

In 1976, he was hired as a regional sales manager with Beiersdorf Medical Products, Norwalk, Connecticut. George was promoted to National Sales Manager and eventually to Vice-President of Sales. He developed a sales force, support programs, and support teams that consistently exceeded sales forecasts. George was a leader who had the respect of his employees and was also ready to join his sales group in the fields to help, advise, and learn without criticizing. He retired in 2008. His leadership, fairness, and support were admired and appreciated by all the employees in the Beiersdorf organization.

George was an active member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Farrell, Pennsylvania, where he was on the church council. In addition, he was a longtime member of the Brookfield Board of Education; Optimist Club; and past-president of the Board of Education at Fairhaven School.

In his spare time, he enjoyed racing go-karts as a younger man; had a love for cars; and was a sincere traveling salesman. He liked to attend community functions and sporting events with his wife and daughter. They are big supporters of the Brookfield community and school district.

Mourning his loss are daughter, Nicole “Nikki” Renee Economides, of Masury; nephews, Rudy (Diane) Carpenter, Wally (Judy) Carpenter, & Bernie (Pam) Carpenter, whom he loved like sons; nieces, Lisa Carpenter-Wyse, and Gina Carpenter (Terry), who were bonus daughters; as well as many great nieces, nephews, countless friends, close associates from his years at BMP, and the various school boards he served.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his bride of 55 years, Janice Marie (Carpenter) Economides, whom he married May 3, 1969, she passed on October 25, 2024.

A time of gathering to honor George will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 4-7 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403, where a Trisagion Memorial Service will be offered at 6:45 PM. On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, a traditional Greek Orthodox Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1007 Washington Street, Farrell, where family & friends may pay their respects from 10:30 until the service begins. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Brookfield Township Cemetery.
