BROOKFIELD – Florence “Flo” E. Jarrett, 76, died Monday, March 23, 2015, at the Sharon Regional Health Care System after an unexpected and brief illness.

Florence was born on October 24, 1938 in Sharon to the late Scott Hassel Miller, Sr. and Phyllis Louise (Hoelzle) Miller. She graduated from Brookfield High School in 1956 and later began a long career at General Motors in Lordstown, where she retired as a quality assurance technician after 30 years with the company.

She was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 1714 and the Brookfield Ladies Firemen’s Auxiliary. As a dedicated member of the Brookfield United Methodist Church, she volunteered for the church’s Altar Guild and Women’s Circle, as well as participated in the Just Friends Sunday School. In addition, she had also worked the voting polls in her precinct during each election.

Flo was an avid NASCAR racing fan, passionately rooting for the Blaneys, and at one time, working for the Sharon Speedway as a ticket collector. She also enjoyed watching college basketball, especially her Duke Blue Devils.

Florence loved spending time with her family. She never forgot a birthday, and she made sure to be there for her grandchildren’s first school days as well as round up the family for holiday gatherings.

She is survived by her children, Cyndi Davis (Kevin), Hermitage, PA, and Wayne “Spark” Jarrett, Jr. (Tammy), Brookfield, OH; brother, Scott H. Miller (Cindy), Masury, OH; grandchildren, Nicole Wolford, Britney Kleese (Mathew), Danielle Jarrett, Winter and Danika Davis; great-grandchildren, Brett and Breanna Wolford, and Alyssa Kleese; nieces, Chelsea Miller (fiancé Justin Simeon), and Corin Miller; and her beloved companions, her two cats.

A time of gathering to honor Florence will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 5-8 PM at Briceland Funeral Service, 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. Her celebration continues on Thursday at 11 AM with a funeral service at the Brookfield United Methodist Church. She will be laid rest in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
