Evelyn Candor

Evelyn June Candor, of Masury, Ohio, began her Heavenly journey on Monday, August 31, 2015, at home as her family’s love surrounded her. She was 72.

Evie was born June 1, 1943, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a daughter to Louis J. & Frances A.  (Jarosz) Kijowski.

After graduating from Brookfield High School in 1961, she fell in love with Raymond R. “Ron” Candor. They exchanged vows on October 9, 1965 in St. Bernadette Catholic Church united by Father Culp and together started a family. To this union four children were born, Denise, Mark, Greg & Gary.

She was a very devout and faith filled Catholic woman who belonged to the St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Masury.

She was very talented and meticulous in all she did. She became a beautician and had done hair for over 25 years most recently at the Orange Village Care Center.

In her spare time, she enjoyed cleaning, cooking, crocheting, coffee with friends, and caring for her home and yard. She was a true perfectionist about everything – not a blade of grass stood taller than the other, nor a speck of dust to be found in her house. She was also known as the “clothing inspector” for her husband and children having the ability to spot a loose thread from any angle. She was extremely devoted to her family and friends showing her love for them with her endless serving of food. No child, grandchild, or friend ever left from her home hungry.

She is survived by: her husband of almost 50 years, Ron; her children, Denise M. Courtwright (James), North East, PA, Mark A. "Moose" Candor, Masury, OH, Greg E. Candor (Candace), Masury, OH, and Gary C. Candor (Cinnamon), Cortland, OH; her grandchildren, Zane & Reid Courtwright, Caden Drew Candor, Braeden, Katarina, Grayson, & Zarina Candor; her brother, Walter L. Kijowski, Boardman, OH; and her sister-in-law, Lois J. Missik, Masury, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A time of gathering to honor Evelyn’s life will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015, from 4-8 PM at Briceland Funeral Service, located on the Historic Green, 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Saturday, September 5, 2015, in her church, St. Bernadette, 7800 Locust Street, Masury, Ohio 44438. She will be laid to rest in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
