Eleanor "Ele" Merrow

Eleanor “Ele” L. Merrow, of Greenville, Pennsylvania, passed away at 4:45 PM Thursday, May 31, 2018, while a patient in the Grove at Greenville, following a brief illness. She was 76.

Eleanor was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania on November 22, 1941, a daughter to Oscar & Mildred (Sherwood) Carson.

She met her husband Richard S. Merrow, Sr., on a blind date in Pittsburgh and they married on February 9, 1963. Together they raised two sons.

After moving to the valley, Ele worked as a secretary for the Werner Ladder Company, Greenville, for more than 20 years. In addition, she worked at the Heritage Home Care at St. Paul's Home, Greenville.

In her spare time, she was an avid Facebook user, and enjoyed the company of her fur (cats) babies. However, spending time with her grandchildren was most precious to her.

Survivors include: her sons, Richard S. Merrow, Jr. & his wife Melody, Kinsman, Ohio, and Robert E. Merrow & his wife Teresa, W. Middlesex, Pennsylvania; her six grandchildren, Trevor, Courtney, Robert, Madison, Jonathan, & Richelle Merrow; her three great-grandchildren, Caden, Violet, & Henleigh; her brothers & sisters-in-law, Byron & Maxine Carson, & Lavern & Barbara Carson, all of Pleasantville, Pennsylvania; and her close friend, Bob Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Rich, who died on November 22, 2011.

A time of gathering in Ele’s honor will be on Sunday, June 3, 2018, from 4 to 7 PM in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, located on the historic green at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. A funeral service will be offered on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville.
