Elaine “Momma Laine” Jackson, of Farrell, Pennsylvania, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, following a devastating fall at home. She was 75.
Elaine was born February 23, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a daughter to Doc McCoy & Necie (Coleman) McCoy.
She graduated in 1969 from Fifth Avenue High School, Pittsburgh, and furthered her education at Robert Morris College, where she obtained a bachelor degree in Business Administration. Furthermore, she pursued more schooling to become a dental hygienist.
Elaine worked for many years as a dental hygienist for Allegheny General Hospital. Additionally, she also worked at AT&T as a telemarketer.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, writing poetry, pizza, ice cream sammiches, and listening to the Temptations. After she became sober, Elaine mentored many people to their sobriety. She was a phenomenal grandmother, who loved her grandkids unconditionally. She will be missed.
Survivors include: her son, Derek Jackson (Melissa), of Farrell; grandchildren, Jayden, Shaharra, Shaundae, Breiona, and De-Jon; great-grandchildren, De-Arie, Vydale, Shamir, Sincere, ShaRiya, Avah, Ariyah, and Aubree; sisters, Shirley Thomas, of Pittsburgh, and Gloria Evans (Reginald), of Queens, New York; sister-in-law, Leslie Jackson; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gregory "Skezzie" Jackson, whom she married in 1973, he died October 30, 2012; and siblings, James McCoy & Geraldine Blakley.
A Home Going Service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Valley Baptist Church, 500 Sharon-New Castle Rd., Farrell, with Pastor T. James Harrison officiating. Family & friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, also in the church.
