Dorothy G. Baldwin

Dorothy G. Baldwin, longtime resident of Hubbard, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, while at home, following a very brief illness. She was 94.

Dorothy was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on June 10, 1929, a daughter to Elmer & Charlotte (Freeman) Trost.

She worked many years as a drug clerk for Beil & Rumpus Pharmacy, Youngstown. She later retired from Dilts Pharmacy, also in Youngstown.

She fell in love with a gentleman by the name of Lawrence “Larry” Baldwin. They exchanged vows on December 11, 1969 and held hands for the next 35 years until his passing on August 10, 2004.

Her memberships include: Hubbard Central Christian Church; Order of Eastern Star #518, Hartford, Ohio (now Cortland Opal Chapter #181), where she was a Past Worthy Matron; Senior & Sanctioned Bowling Leagues at Bellwick Lanes, Hubbard; and the Happy Wanderers.

In her spare time, she enjoyed ballroom dancing with husband Larry, sewing, needlepoint, crocheting, and crafting.

Survivors include: her adopted daughter, Terry (Jeff) Schroll; grandchildren, Katlyn (Ben) Jarrett, Kristin (Isaiah) Schroll-Smith, & Robert Schroll; great-grandson, James Jarrett; and nieces, Linda McCamon & Charlotte McEwen.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Donald C. Trost; and niece, Christine Cottrill.

A time of gathering will be held in Dorothy’s honor on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 2-4 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. Her celebration continues with an Eastern Star Service at 4 PM followed by a funeral service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Brookfield Township Cemetery.

As suggested by her family, memorial contributions can be made payable to the Hubbard Central Christian Church, 44 S. Main Street, Hubbard, Ohio 44425.
