Denny “Frenchie” Lee French, 83, of Fowler, Ohio, went home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, following a long fight with both Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Denny was born in Warren, Ohio, on August 24, 1941, a son to Russel Charles & Frances Edna (Mocella) French.
He graduated from Vienna High School in 1959 and was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force.
Following an honorable discharge, Denny married a gal by the name of Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Tyrrell on October 3, 1964.
A beautiful family soon followed consisting of a son, Russel, and daughter, Melody. He supported his young family by working as a Tinner & trouble shooter for Packard Electric. He dedicated 30 years of service to the company before retiring.
He was a member of the Brookfield United Methodist Church; Vienna Fish & Game Club #35, where he was a former officer & trustee for many years; and lifetime member of the NRA.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting & fishing. He always looked forward to his annual trip to Deep River, in Ontario, Canada. Denny was a true outdoorsman, who respected nature and everything within it. However, the love he had for his family was genuine, especially for his grandkids.
Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Kathy; son, Russel French (Lori); daughter, Melody Merrow (Rich); grandchildren, Trevor Merrow (Brittany), Zachary French; Perry French (Audra), Jonathan Merrow (Paige), & Richelle Merrow; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Ellie, and Sully Merrow; sisters, Rena Cesta & Noreen Gregory (Garry); and fur-pup, Dapple.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jake French; and brother, Ronnie French.
A time of gathering in Denny’s honor will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 6-8 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. Military Honors will be rendered to conclude the evening by the West Middlesex & Wheatland Honor Guard. He will be laid to rest with family in the Vienna Township Cemetery.
