Dennis L. Dillon, of Masury, Ohio, was welcomed into the loving arms of his bride “Geri” in Heaven on Sunday, June 15, 2025, while at home and surrounded by the love of his family. He was 73.
Dennis was born on July 30, 1951, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a son to Joseph and Helen M. (Mielcarek) Dillon.
Self was forgotten when he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He proudly defended our flag as he was assigned to the D Battery, 2nd Battalion, of the 56th Air Defense Artillery. He was honorably discharged from his duties with the rank of Specialist, SP4.
Upon his return home, he married the love of his life, the former Geraldine “Geri” L. Wilkes, on October 27, 1973. They held hands for the next 46 years until her passing on March 21, 2020.
He found employment in the Shenango Valley working for Sharon Steel, Winner Steel, and Sharon Coatings. However, he was known and remembered in the neighborhood as “Mr. Fix it”. Denny loved working on cars and tinkering around, helping anyone he could.
In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, and cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers. In addition, he liked to go Geocaching with his kids, Shawn & Jenna.
Mourning his loss are: son, Shawn A. Dillon & his wife Tara, of Warren, Ohio; daughter, Jenna L. Vaughn & her husband Nick, of Masury; granddaughters, Avary & Caleigh Dillon, and Gracie Vaughn; sisters, Eleanor Mills (Eddie) and Delores Coup, both of Farrell, Pennsylvania; and brothers, John Dillon (Beverly), of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, and Stanley Dillon (Kathy), of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife; brothers, Anthony, Joseph, & Raymond Dillon; as well as his sister, Diane Dillon.
Graveside services will be held in his honor on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Brookfield Township Cemetery with military honors provided by the West Middlesex & Wheatland Honor Guard.
