Deirdre “Dee Dee” Ann Devine, of Hubbard, Ohio, unexpectedly passed from this life while at home from natural causes on Sunday, June 1, 2025, following a sudden illness. She was 56.
Deirdre was born on August 21, 1968, in Warren, Ohio, a daughter to John Franklin Devine, Sr. and Virginia May (Sharak) Devine.
Dee Dee graduated from Mathews High School in 1986, and she furthered her education at Youngstown State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Social Work. She dedicated 30 years of her life to helping others as a supervisor at the Jobs and Family Services, where her compassion and care touched the lives of many.
A woman of boundless love and generosity, Dee Dee’s life was defined by her selflessness. She always put others before herself, an open heart, and a welcoming home to everyone she met. Her infectious smile, laughter, and spontaneous spirit made her the heart of every room. She was known for being the most loving and devoted mother, wife, and friend to all. Her love for her family was matched only by her devotion to her fur babies, who held a special place in her heart.
Dee Dee had a zest for life that was nothing short of extraordinary. She loved to travel, and was always looking for her next adventure. She was the definition of living in the moment—whether it was playing corn hole, cards, or board games. Outdoors, she found peace among the hummingbirds, appreciating nature and the simple beauty of life.
Her family and friends remember her as a beautiful light in a dark world, whose spirit will continue to shine through the lives she touched. Dee Dee was the very definition of kindness, love, and joy, and her absence leaves a deep ache in the hearts of those who knew her.
She had a beautiful heart with a soul to match. Dee Dee liked to go shopping & to spend evenings out by the fire with family & friends. Selfless to a fault, she loved her family more than anything in the world. Most notably, her grandson was the light of her life. Her legacy will continue as her roots are well planted in him & her family.
Mourning her loss are her beloved husband, Guy Lee Simpson, whom she married August 22, 1997; daughter, Constance Macy Devine (Daniel Sattler), of Brookfield, Ohio; grandson, Grayson Oliver Sattler; siblings, Linda "Sue" McCabe, of Liberty Twp., Ohio, and John Franklin Devine, Jr. (Cheryl), of Champion, Ohio; nieces, Desi & Luca Devine; nephew, Sean McCabe (Michelle); extended family & many friends; as well as her beloved fur kids.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
