Debra L. Callahan-Bowe, of Farrell, Pennsylvania, passed from this life into eternity on September 13, 2025, while at home from natural causes. She was 73.
Debra was born January 10, 1952, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a daughter to James Callahan, Jr. and Blanche (Williams) Callahan.
She graduated from Farrell High School in 1971.
Debbie worked 20+ years as a clerk at the Unemployment Office, in Sharon. In addition, she might also be remembered working at the Parole Office in Mercer.
She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church and The Twin City Elks Lodge 187, both in Farrell.
In her spare time, she enjoyed watching soap operas, doing word search books, and crossword puzzles. However, spending time with her family, especially grand & greats, is what she loved the most.
Mourning her loss are her sons, Robert M. Brodie (Kim Shaffer), of Sharon, and Corey L. Brodie (Nicole Smith), of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; step-daughters, Crystal Johnson, Cynthia Boatwright, and Malinda Dixon; special daughter, Rita Dunlap; 26 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Callahan (Phyllis), of Santa Monica, California, Daryl Callahan (Diane Fortuna), of Salisbury, North Carolina, and James Callahan (Debbie), of Concord, New Hampshire; sisters, Yvonne Callahan, of Farrell, and Nefertari Williams (Douglas), of Sharon; a host of nieces & nephews; Godchildren, Paulie & Jarrett Samuels; special sisters, Monica “Munch” Collins & Phyllis Smith; as well as bonus sisters, Stella Butler & Adrian Ferguson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brian J. Brodie; sister, Virginia Callahan; niece, Jamina L. Daniels-Callahan; and a special brother, Milton Blue.
A Home Going Celebration will be held in her honor on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM, in the Second Missionary Baptist Church, 1138 Spearman Avenue, Farrell, Pennsylvania 16121, where family and friends may gather one hour from 10:00 – 11:00 AM prior to pay their respects. She will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
