David John C. James Flint, III, of Sharon, Pennsylvania, peacefully transitioned from this life on Sunday, October 19, 2025, while a patient at UPMC – Horizon Campus, Greenville, Pennsylvania, following a brief illness. He was 70.
David was born May 16, 1955, in Farrell, Pennsylvania, a son to David John C. James, Jr. & Carrie Lee (McLean) Flint-James.
He was a 1973 graduate from Sharon High School and had worked at Pen Sack in Sharon. In addition, he was a truck driver for many years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Steelers, fishing, playing cards, cooking, dancing, and singing. He loved to laugh and joke around, especially with those close to him. However, spending time with his family meant the most to him.
Mourning his loss are his fiancée, Sylvia Grannison; step-son, Andre Grannison, of Sharon; children, David Scott (fiancée, Melinda), of Charleston, West Virginia, Quentin Nicholson, of Boardman, Ohio, Elisha Norris, of Shreveport, Louisiana, Tasha Ham (Lorenzo), of North Carolina, Rennie Gash, Njiaha Gash, & Torrie Hawkins (Danielle), all of Sharon; 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Oretta (Flint) Green, of Sharon, Mildred Boyd, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, Shawn Gross, of Farrell, & Theodore Gross, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; uncle, Louis James, of Chicago, Illinois; aunt, Dava James, of Iowa; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Emmanuel "Spike" Norris; a grandson; sisters, Evelyn Hawkins & Gwendolyn McDonald; and nephews, Wayne Brown, Torrence Hawkins, Vernon Hawkins, & James Hawkins.
A Home Going Service to honor David will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2025, at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship of the Shenango Valley, 858 Wallis Avenue, Sharon, Pennsylvania 16146. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10-11 AM, also in the church. He will be laid to rest in Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
