Darlene Perkins

Darlene Ann Perkins, of Masury, Ohio, was called home on Thursday, July 5, 2018, in the Emergency Room of UPMC Horizon, Shenango Valley Campus, Farrell, Pennsylvania, following an apparent heart attack. She was 75.

Darlene was born May 27, 1943, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, a daughter to Benjamin Edward & Ann Jane (Whittingham) Yard.

A 1961 graduate of New Brighton High School, she worked for SCI, Department of Corrections, Leavittsburg, Ohio, as a Librarian.

Her favorite pastime was playing Bingo, gambling, and decorating her house. However, her biggest joy was being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by: her sons, Dale Allen Yard (Debra J.), Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, and Shawn Raole Perkins, Masury; her daughter, Eryn Jessica Barczak (Michael), Butler, Pennsylvania; her grandsons, Ryan Michael Perkins, Isaac Sebastian Perkins, & Benjamin Allen Yard; her great-grandchildren, Eliza Darling Perkins & Kayden Perkins; her brothers, Joel "Joe" Yard, Rochester, and Leslie Yard (Joanne), Monaca, Pennsylvania; and her countless friends across Western Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale Woodruff Perkins, whom she married May 17, 1969, he died March 16, 2016; her granddaughter, Hillary Perkins; and her siblings, Ronald Yard, Edward Benjamin Yard, & Cheryl Yard.

A memorial service and picnic to honor Darlene’s life will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 12pm in Buhl Park, Hermitage, Pennsylvania.  It will be located in Shelter 3 off of Forker Blvd.
