Cleo Wells

July 2, 1938 — March 4, 2016

Cleo Gale Wells, of Masury, Ohio, passed from this world on Friday, March 4, 2016, at home following a brief illness. He was 77.

Cleo was born July 2, 1938, in Defiance, Ohio, a son to Curtis O. & Blanche (Noirot) Wells.

He graduated from Defiance High School in 1956 and enlisted in the U.S. Airforce that same year. Self was forgotten the day he left his home to defend our flag and to help keep our country free. Cleo was assigned to the 79th Fighter Group and was honorably discharged on February 5, 1960.

A short time after he came home, he married his love, Miss Myrna Sue Turner, on April 15, 1960.

He decided to further his education by attending Tri-State College, Angola, Indiana, where in 1967 he received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

His brilliant mind landed him a position working for IBM, Owego, New York. In addition, Cleo worked as an Insurance Salesman, sold Aerial Photography, and all around handyman.

In his spare time, he loved playing cards, especially euchre’ and pinnacle. He enjoyed bowling and staying busy. Perhaps he was best known for his ability to fix anything.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sharon, Pennsylvania and was a former Boy Scout Troop Leader when he lived in New York.

Survivors include: his wife of 55 years, Sue; his brothers, Gerald Wells (Dorothy), Orange City, Florida, and Ray Wells, Wauseon, Ohio; his sister, Gloria Arps, Bryan, Ohio; and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brothers, Victor & Leslie Wells.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 1 PM in the First Baptist Church, 301 W. State Street, Sharon, Pennsylvania 16146.
