Charlotte “Sharrie” Lorene Alston, of Farrell, Pennsylvania, peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, while at home following a period of declining health. She was 81.
Charlotte was born April 7, 1944, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a daughter to Charles Holland and Rebecca Marie (Lampkins) Kellum.
She worked as a clerk for the Post Office and retired as a Corrections Officer from Morton Penitentiary, Washington D.C.
Sharrie was a member of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship of the Shenango Valley, Farrell, where she was a mother of the church.
In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family & friends. She gave generously to her community. She loved handing out sweets, mainly popsicles, to the neighborhood kids. In addition, she enjoyed playing cards and going to the Casino. However, she loved her dogs, Paco & Chico, they will miss her company.
Survivors include: son, Reginald James Holland; brother, Charles Holland; nieces, Monica Y. Williams, Tonya Mathis, Donna Byrd, and Angela Owens; nephews, Charles Kellum, Jr., Norman Kellum (Stephanie), and Carlton Streeter (Annette); as well as 12 great nieces & nephews; and a multitude of family & friends who will miss her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Charles Kellum, Phyllis Williams, Norman Kellum, & Fredrick Kellum; niece, Stephanie Sheffield; and nephews, David Williams & Devon Williams.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
