Charles Brooks Blake-Reed, of Kinsman, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 while a patient in Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, Ohio, following an apparent heart attack. He was 82.
Charles was born February 24, 1937, in Moatsville, West Virginia, a son to Buck Reed & Ruby (Blake) Reed-Huffman.
He worked as a self-employed truck driver for 53 years before officially retiring.
In his spare time, he enjoyed cheering on old #3, Dale Earnhardt Sr., riding his Honda motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and camping at Ponderosa Park, Salem, Ohio. In addition, a favorite pastime was participating in Enduro Racing at the Sharon Speedway. However, he most cherished spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by: wife, Nancy Lee (Frye) Reed, whom he married on February 7, 1974; sons, Steve Blake, of Pennsylvania, Charlie Blake, Jr. (Barbara), Clifford Blake, all of Elkins, West Virginia, and Marty Blake, Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Betty Jo Tretnik, of Pennsylvania, Denise Snyder, Howland Twp., Ohio, Lisa Ashcraft (Michael), Tina Homewood (Ted), all of Warren; grandchildren, Hillary, Fawna, Steven, Stephanie, Amy, Bobbie, Jasmine, Greg, James, Gary III, Alisha, Kaila, Desirae, & Dakota; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Mike Reed, of Pennsylvania, Dayton Lee Reed (Lil), Thomasville, North Carolina, and Jimmy "Sticks" Huffman (Patty), Philippi, West Virginia; and his many friends within the Amish Community.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nellie & Maxine Reed; and brothers, Eugene & Eddie Reed.
A time of gathering to honor Charles will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019, from 12-3 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, LLC, located at 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. A prayer service will conclude our time together at 3:00 PM.
