Bruce Anthony, of Hartford, Ohio, was received into the loving arms of his bride Ethelmae on Monday, March 30, 2026, while a patient at O’Brien Memorial Health Care Center, Masury, Ohio, following a brief illness. He was 93.

Bruce was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 28, 1932, a son to Warren & Mildred (Crooks) Anthony.

He was a 1950 graduate from Hartford High School and shortly thereafter enlisted with the U.S. Air Force. Self was forgotten when he decided to help defend our flag and keep our country free. As an Airman 1st Class, he was assigned to the 1123rd support squadron stationed at Fort Myer, Arlington, Virginia. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal before he was honorably discharged from his duties.

Bruce worked as a die setter for Packard Electric and retired in 1990 after dedicating over 30 years of service to the company.

His memberships include the Hartford Community Church, where he was one of the oldest members; United Auto Workers Local #717; and the American Legion.

In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and gardening. However, he loved playing with his grandkids & great-grands the most.

Mourning his loss are children, Michael W. Anthony and Marlene M. Yeager (Michael Thorn), both of Hartford; grandchildren, Amanda Watson, TJ Yeager (Chelsea), Mallory Sibley (Scott), and Madeline Mattocks (Chris); great-grandchildren, Ava & Rowan Yeager and Charlotte & Zoey Sibley; and sister, Eileen Niemi, of Cortland, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his bride, Ethelmae (Whitmore) Anthony, whom he married while on leave July 4, 1954, she passed January 24, 2021.

In accordance to his wishes, no calling hours or services will be held.
