Beatrice D. Davis

August 30, 1927 — November 12, 2024

Masury

Beatrice Davis, of Masury, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, while surrounded by the love of her family following a period of declining health.

She was born on August 30, 1927, in Berkley Springs, West Virginia, a daughter to the late County Commissioner Robert D. and Carrie (Weber) Michael.

Bea was a 1944 alumna of Berkley Springs High School at the age of 17. She then rode a train to Reno, Nevada, as she furthered her education by attending Reno Business College. Here, she stayed with relatives while attending college. A short time later, she returned home and found employment as a file clerk with the FBI. It was during this time she met her future husband on a blind date, Jack H. Davis, a soldier in the Army stationed at Ft. Belvior, Virginia. They married on June 12, 1947 and moved to Ohio. They shared a love of travel and enjoyed many years of vacations while raising their daughters, prior to Jack’s passing on October 21, 1993. Bea was also employed by the National Weather Service and was responsible for reporting temperature and precipitation from a weather station in her yard.

Beatrice was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Church of God, Hubbard, Ohio. She loved to attend worship services in person and then online when her health declined. She was especially excited to be baptized on June 26, 2022. This moment was truly celebrated by her church family.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends whenever possible. She loved trying new foods, but was particularly fond of fried chicken, pizza, pasta, ice cream, and chocolate.

Survivors include: her daughters, Wanda Davis and Judy (Tim) Radachy, with whom she made her home; grandchildren, Robert (Jessica) Kotas, David (Charo) Kotas, Kimberly Pogoda (Don Jones), Greg Leigh, Sarah (Tim) Rowland, and Joseph Radachy; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Michael; sister, Lois Hamilton; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Michael; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and their families.

Beside her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Lefkowitz, and her husband Harvey; sisters, Ruby Kerns, and her husband Allen, Hilda Cole, and her husband Erv; brother, James L. Michael; and brothers-in-law, Alvin Michael and William Hamilton.

A time of gathering to honor Beatrice will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 5-7 PM, at the Chestnut Ridge Church of God, 7215 Chestnut Ridge Road, Hubbard, Ohio 44425. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM, also in her church, officiated by Pastor Rob McFarland, where family and friends may call from 10-11 AM. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband in the Pineview Memorial Park, Warren, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the church.

A special note of thanks to the Harmony Cares Medical Group and Grace Hospice for their care and support.
