Barbara L. Toy, of Masury, Ohio, was welcomed into the loving arms of her beloved Gary, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, while a patient at Liberty Health Care, Youngstown, Ohio, following a brief illness. She was 76.
Barbara was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania, on December 9, 1948, a daughter to Arthur E. “Stub” & Laura Mae (Myers) Young.
She was a 1966 graduate of Oil City High School and married her high school sweetheart, Gary E. Toy, on August 3, 1968.
Barb worked as an administrative assistant for First National Bank, Hermitage, Pennsylvania, and retired from First National Trust in 2011, after dedicating over 24 years to her vocation.
She was a member of the Brookfield United Methodist Church, Card Club, and Looney Loomers Club.
In her spare time, she enjoyed attending grandkids' activities, going camping, and traveling as much as possible. However, crocheting blankets, complete with names & birthdates, is what she loved to do. She was a beautiful person with a soul to match. She will be truly missed.
Survivors include: her boys, Trent A. Toy (Lisa), of Greenville, Pennsylvania, and Trevor J. Toy (Lisa), of Youngstown, Ohio; grandchildren, Rachael Toy, Cole Toy, Alexis Toy, Hailey Toy, & Liam Riley; brother, Bradley Young (Barbara), of Franklin; sister, Brenda O'Brien (Gary), of Oil City; aunt & uncle, Martha & Dale Walters; nieces, Jennifer, Laurie, & Kara; nephews, Cody, Zack, & Casey; several cousins; as well as sister-in-law, Kay Waslohn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband of 53 years, Gary, on January 9, 2022; and brother-in-law, Denny Waslohn.
A time of gathering to honor Mrs. Toy will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 2 to 4 PM, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, 379 State Route 7, SE, Brookfield, Ohio 44403. Her celebration continues with a funeral service at 4:00 PM. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
